Ndidi Okanu, NP
A native of Chicago, Ndidi moved to Washington, DC, in August of 2022 with her husband and two sons. She joined USW as our nurse practitioner and provider for our novel urology urgent care initiative. She received her undergraduate degree from Truman State University, a master’s in nursing science from the University of Cincinnati, and is Board Certified.
Ndidi is highly experienced with a 17-year nursing career, eight of which were as a Registered Nurse in the Critical Care unit and Medical-Surgical units at Cook County Hospital in Chicago (one of the oldest and most innovative teaching hospitals in the US on which the show ER was based). Ndidi also has eight years of experience in dialysis care and as a nurse practitioner in Pain Management and Primary Care.
In her capacity as a urology-specific nurse practitioner, Ndidi is skilled in Sacral Neuromodulation for Urge Urinary Incontinence, Botox injections for overactive bladder and Urge Incontinence, evaluating and treating both male and female Lower urinary tract disorders, and treating male sexual dysfunction. She is a certified ultrasonographer skilled in in-office testis and kidney ultrasound.
Most importantly, as is the hallmark of our practice, Ndidi has a real passion for continued training and learning and believes in educating her patients to arm them with the information needed to take part in their care and advocate for their continued health.
On a personal note, Ndidi loves movies (especially historical period pieces and thrillers), reading, crocheting, traveling, cooking, and listening to music and podcasts. You’ll find her spending precious free time with her husband and boys.
