Credit Card on File
It is the policy of Urologic Surgeons of Washington to ask you to place a valid credit card on file with us when becoming our patient. Working with insurance companies can be challenging for both the patient and also the physician’s office in this era of high deductible insurance plans and ever changing rules and coverages. By placing a card on file with us, you are in essence promising to pay the amount allowed by the insurance company to be billed to you, the patient. You will always be alerted as to when your card is being charged, and how much that charge is. In cases where you feel a charge is not correct, we ask you first to consult your insurance company and determine why they have deemed that you are to be billed the amount you were billed, and therefore why they did not fully cover your bill, or how your deductible or copay as dictated by your plan relates to the charge.
We only ever charge you what your insurance company states is allowed and not covered by them. And ultimately, if you feel a charge is in error, you still retain all of your rights to dispute the charge with your credit card company. However, a best first step would be to call your insurance company, and if needed call us directly to explain how the charge was generated in the first place.
If a mistake was made on our end, we will always immediately issue a refund back to your card for that amount.
For those unwilling to leave a card on file, we charge a $50 administrative fee to be seen.
